About us

We specialise in the manufacture of 4mm (OO gauge) and 7mm (O gauge) scales of the finest model railway carriages and 7mm scale heritage diesels. We happily accept commissions and the building of pre-acquired kits in both 4mm and 7mm scales. All our models are hand made, including fully detailed interiors, by Ian Willets from quality materials such as brass or white metal to the most exacting standards and finished to exhibition standard and beyond!

All models feature fully detailed interiors and painted, to your specification, by the renowned expert Dave Studley in your choice of livery including weathering if required.

Ian Willets started trading as Willets Scale Models in 2004 and has been delivering highly detailed British railway carriage and heritage diesels to customers worldwide ever since. Almost everything in our galleries is repeatable and most other diagrams available. We are also able to provide numerous rail modeling parts, a selection of which can be found on our 'Price List' page.

The website

willetsscalemodels.co.uk started life in August 2007 and has progressed exponentially since then, from its humble beginnings as a one page site we now boast a 200+ image gallery and full W3C valid certification. We aim to provide our visitors a means to easily view our existing products as well as provide an easy way to contact us should you wish to discuss your needs. The website is built and maintained by James Bell, a Network Engineer studying at Staffordshire University.
